Friday 4th April
Happy Friday!
I hope all our families, who celebrated Eid on Sunday or Monday, had a joyful and peaceful time together. It’s always a special time for reflection, family, and celebration.
Wednesday was an incredibly busy and exciting day in school. We were thrilled to welcome author Farhana Islam into school to introduce her new book ‘The Misadventures of Mina Mahmood.’ The children had the opportunity to plan their own stories inspired by Farhana’s writing, and it was a joy to see their creativity sparked. Several pupils have even brought in stories they wrote at home following the workshop – I’ve loved reading them and seeing how inspired they’ve been.
Later that day, we held not one but two fantastic discos, organised by Mrs Higgins. It was great fun for everyone involved, and staff especially enjoyed seeing all the children's amazing dance moves! Huge thanks to all the staff who stayed after school to make these events possible – your generosity and dedication are truly appreciated.
Please understand that while we want every child to have the opportunity to attend the disco, we do need to set a deadline for ticket sales. This is essential to help us prepare properly – from informing teachers of which children will be attending, checking for any allergies and making sure we have enough refreshments to ensuring we can keep all children safe and well-supervised during the event. We never like to disappoint anyone, which is why tickets are made available several weeks in advance. To avoid any upset in future, please make sure to purchase your child’s ticket before the deadline.
As always, we kindly remind parents and carers to speak calmly and respectfully when discussing any concerns with school staff as they work tirelessly to support the well-being and development of every child. We are deeply committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for our children, staff and families.
Finally, a big well done to year three, year four, nursery and year two – it’s been a week full of performances and exhibitions, and we have been blown away by your confidence, creativity, and depth of knowledge. You’ve made us all incredibly proud!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday ready for the last week of this term.
